How selection works

The selection criteria for the University of Wollongong medicine comprises a 2 stage process (like many other universities).

Stage 1

The University of Wollongong uses CASPer in their application process. CASPer is an online video based scenario, situational judgement test. The University of Wollongong Portfolio is a written description of your experience and your achievements. The Portfolio is submitted as part of your initial application for the medicine program. Domestic applicants who meet CASPer and GPA hurdle requirements, will have their GAMSAT (50%) results, plus Portfolio (including your rurality rating) (50%) assessed to determine who's offered an interview.

International applicants are ranked for interview based on their MCAT/GAMSAT and GPA results together with CASPer and Portfolio.

Stage 2

Your interview results (25%) are combined with your CASPer (25%) and Portfolio (50%), to determine if you're offered a place in the University of Wollongong's medicine degree.
